The HHREC is pleased to welcome New Rochelle resident Rabbi Amiel Wohl as a new member of our Advisory Board of Directors effective July 2009. Rabbi Wohl is Rabbi Emeritus of Temple Israel of New Rochelle. He was a founder of the Interreligious Council of New Rochelle, and is a past President; and served both on the Human Rights Commission of New Rochelle and Westchester County Human Rights Commission. He and Rev. Vernon Shannon created the Coalition for Mutual Respect, which holds dialogues, conferences and social events with Black and Jewish members of the community.
Rabbi Wohl serves on the Rabbinic Board of Overseers of his alma mater, the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati. He represented the Central Conference of American Rabbis on the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations in the United States, and is a past President of the Westchester Board of Rabbis.
Rabbi Wohl is a welcomed member to the HHREC Board of Directors.
The HHREC is pleased to welcome Croton-on-Hudson resident Joanne Landau as the newest member of our Advisory Board of Directors. Joanne is president / investor of Kurtsam Realty Corporation in Westchester, a privately owned real estate business managing neighborhood shopping centers and small commercial buildings.
Joanne is active with a wide range of interests as reflected in her numerous board memberships with profit and not-for-profit organizations such as Hudson Holding Corp., Libera Capitol Management (both profit), Youth Centers, Inc., Yale School of Management and Financial Women�s Association (not-for-profits), to name a few.
Joanne�s board specialization in search / nomination, audit financial expertise and her reputation for strategic leadership and sound judgment makes her a welcomed member to the HHREC Advisory Board of Directors.
The HHREC is pleased to welcome Hartsdale resident Michael Rosenthal as a new member of our Board of Directors. Michael is the owner and manager of Rosenthal Memorial Chapel, a Westchester County based Jewish-owned and operated funeral business he established in 2006.
Michael also serves as a Board Member of the Men�s Club at Westchester Reform Temple and at Congregation Sons of Israel. He is a member of the Religious Services and Outreach committees at Westchester Reform Temple and is active in the Knights of Pythias, Yorktown Lodge, #859, a fraternal organization dedicated to creating universal peace.
Michael is a welcomed member to the HHREC Board of Directors.
The HHREC is pleased to welcome Purchase resident Joseph Kaidanow as a new member of our Board of Directors. Joseph is an attorney at Arkaid, LLC, and deals with investments in commercial and residential property and asset management.
Joseph is a member of the Shoah Committee of the Harrison JCC. Joseph also serves as an Advisory Board member for WISE Services, a not-for-profit organization that helps design and implements senior project programs for high schools throughout Westchester and Putnam counties.
With Joseph�s professional business management skills and personal interest in education he is a welcomed addition to the HHREC Board of Directors.
The HHREC is pleased to welcome Purchase resident Claudia Weisser as the newest member of our Board of Directors. Born in Sao Paolo Brazil, Claudia is a graduate of Pontifica Universidade Catolica de Sao Paolo with a degree in Psychology.
Claudia has worked professionally in Human Resources and has done honorary work as a member of the Board of Trustees at the Swiss School in Sao Paolo and currently at the Deutche School New York in White Plains. Claudia has facilitated workshops with students on teambuilding and leadership training.
Claudia is fluent in six languages, a wife, a mother of two grown sons and a welcomed member to the HHREC Board of Directors.
The HHREC is pleased to welcome Scarsdale resident Elise Flagg as a new member of our Board of Directors. Elise is a graduate of George Washington University.
Elise is as an Associate Broker at Houlihan Lawrence in Scarsdale, a wife and mother of three. Elise is active in the community with a wide range of interests as reflected in her numerous community board memberships with Women of Reform Judaism, Westchester Jewish Conference and Westchester Reform Temple.
