Mini Grants

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

Purpose: Grants are available to enhance the teaching of the Holocaust and related topics: human rights, discrimination, racism, and genocide.

Objectives: Proposals may be designed to:
• Enrich classroom instruction
• Develop curricula
• Attend conferences and workshops
• Take courses
• Create exhibits
• Produce assembly programs
• Conduct interviews
• Create original videotapes
• Support field trips
• Supplement instructional materials
• Provide speakers
• Conduct contests

Awarding of Grants: Grants of up to $1000 will be awarded to teachers or teams of teachers working in public, private, and parochial schools in Westchester, Putnam, Rockland counties and lower Connecticut. Applications will be reviewed by the Educators Planning Committee of the Holocaust and Human Rights Education Center.

Deadline: Submission of grant proposals and notification of awards will be made on a rolling basis.

Final Requirements: Grant recipients will be required to submit a one-page summary statement and an evaluation at the completion of their project. Materials suitable for replication must be submitted to the Holocaust and Human Rights Education Center. In addition, Grant recipients are asked to make every effort for press coverage where appropriate.
