Survivor Isaac Levendel visited the French American School of New York. Mr. Levendel recounted his experience during the Holocaust as a child in France for the students, many of whom heard from a Holocaust Survivor for the first time.

Human Rights Institute for Student Leaders
Nearly 300 high school students and teachers from 21 schools in Westchester County, NY, and Fairfield County, CT, attended the Holocaust and Human Rights Education Center’s “Human Rights Institute for High School Student Leaders” on March 14 at Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY. Keynote speakers were Jacqueline Murekatete, a survivor of the Rwandan genocide, and Samuel Goldberg, a producer of the documentary “The Last Survivor.”
HHREC Annual Benefit Dinner 11-03-2011
November 3, 2011 - Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center Honors Community Members "Spirit of Humanity, Courage to Care and Be the Difference" Awards Presented at Annual Benefit. More than 230 guests from Westchester, New York City and Connecticut attended the Holocaust and Human Rights Education Center’s (HHREC) Annual Benefit, Be the Difference, at the Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club on November 3, 2011. Among the guests present were New York State Assemblywoman, Amy Paulin, New York State Assemblyman, George Latimer, New York City Public Advocate, Bill DiBlasio and Joshua Mandell, Mayor of Larchmont.
Port Chester Middle School at HHREC 11-16-2011
Eighth graders from Port Chester Middle School had the opportunity today to listen to the story of Ed Lessing, a Dutch Holocaust survivor, at the Holocaust and Human Rights Education Center, 4 West Red Oak Lane in Harrison (a White Plains mailing address). Mr. Lessing spent several years hiding on farms posing as a non-Jew, and later joined the Dutch Resistance.
